August Cadet Promotions

On August 30, 2018, Squadron 304 was fortunate to have 17 cadets earn promotions. These included:

Cadet Airman

Cadets Dillinger, Hopkins, Johnson, and Kim were promoted to C/Amn. With this promotion they have gone from Airman Basic to full Airman and are now eligible to receive their Air Force-style blues uniform.

Cadet Airman First Class

Cadets Boggs, Funkhouser, Nelson, and Proctor were promoted from C/Amn to Airman First Class.

Cadet Senior Airman

Cadet Kearn was promoted from C/A1C to Senior Airman.

Cadet Staff Sergeant

Cadets McNeace and Monk both earned a milestone promotion with their promotion to Staff Sergeant. This award is the Wright Brothers Award. To earn this award the cadets are required to, among other things, pass a comprehensive exam on Volume 1 of Learn To Lead and a PT test.

Cadet Technical Sergeant

Cadets Bialach and Nieder were promoted from C/SSgt to Technical Sergeant. The next promotion for these cadets is Master Sergeant.

Cadet Chief Master Sergeant

Cadets Bollinger, Greenwall, and Zaengle all earned the second step of their C/CMSgt promotion, which is the Neil Armstrong Achievement. The next step for all three is Cadet 2nd Lieutenant, which is the General Billy Mitchell Award and when a cadet becomes a Cadet Officer. To earn this next award the cadets are required to, among many other things, pass a comprehensive exam on Volumes 1 and 2 of Learn To Lead and a comprehensive test on Aerospace Dimensions. Nationally, only about 15% of cadets ever earn this award.

Cadet Captain

Cadet Jacob Kottraba earned a milestone promotion to Captain. This award is the Amelia Earhart Award. To earn this award cadets are required to, among other things, pass a comprehensive exam on Volumes 1-3 of Learn To Lead and a comprehensive exam on all modules of Aerospace Dimensions. Cadets at this level also must complete a SDA Staff Service and pass a PT test. Nationally, less than 3% of cadets ever earn this award.
